Our displaced schoolteacher is originally from Maryland but prior to the war was teaching is North Carolina. Due to her formal education in the northern state of New York (found out by the local people of the children she teaches), she was informed her services as a teacher in North Carolina were no longer desired. In
hopes of her being able to return to her home state of Maryland
she became a follower of the Army of Northern Virginia. While
with the army she has taken on several duties that are important
to the army and men such as helping solders write letters
home, teaching solders who cannot read, cooking, and wash
duties. Site designed and created by Jay Vogel To contact Lee's Lieutenants Headquarters Army of Northern Virginia e-mail: kc130@suddenlink.net |
