Sallie Corbell Pickett portrayed by Cindy Larkin

LaSalle Corbell Pickett, born May 1843, was raised on her family's plantation in Nansemond County, Viriginia. She met George Pickett in 1852 at the age of nine while she was on vacation recovering from whooping cough and George was mourning the loss of his first wife and child. She was attending a Ladies' Seminary in Lynchburg when the War started but left to care for George when he was wounded at 7 Days. They were married in Septe, ber 1863 shortly after Gettysburg in Petersburg, VA. They had two children, George Jr. and Corbell. She was totally devoted to George and after his death; the remainder of her life was devoted to preserving his legacy as a hero of the South.

Cindy attended her first reenactment, Gettysburg 2003, as a spectator, but during the 3-day event got hooked on the hobby. 2004 was my first full reenacting season, although I missed a lot of events due to my work. Cindy's first LH portrayal was a refugee civilian, but has recently changed to portray LaSalle Corbell Pickett, wife of General George Pickett. She live is Severn, MD which is equidistant from Washington, DC and Baltimore. I am currently serving on active duty in the US Army where I am Human Resources NCO and just returned from a trip to Afghanistan.
